In August 2019, YouNet Media launched the YMI Ranking, aimed at establishing a new perspective on evaluating and ranking the social media performance of Brands, Campaigns, and Hot topics. YouNet Media Index includes: Brand Ranking, Campaign Ranking, SocialTrend Ranking.

YMI Ranking Methodology
Ranking of Brands/Campaigns with outstanding performance on social media based on discussions generated by qualified users. Ranking frequency and methodology: For YMI Brand Ranking – ranking monthly/yearly by industry; For YMI Campaign Ranking – ranking seasonally & by campaign objectives.
Measuring and comparing the media effectiveness of Brands/Campaigns based on the following criteria:
– For the YMI Brand Ranking, rankings are based on the following metrics: Audience Scale Score, Buzz Score, Brand Mention Score, Sentiment Score.
– For the YMI Campaign Ranking, rankings are based on the following metrics: Qualified Users, Buzz Volume From Qualified Users, Object Mention From Qualified Users, Sentiment From Qualified Users.
Brands/Campaigns appearing in the rankings must meet the criteria of achieving a positive Sentiment Index (>0). The data for the rankings is compiled using YouNet Media’s Social Listening platform SocialHeat.

The Coverage of Brand on Social Media (based on the audience scale – number of unique audiences who participate in the conversations about the brand).

The Brand Noise Level on Social Media (based on total mentions generated about brand on social media).

The Brand Relevance in discussions (based on the volume of conversations mentioning the brand).

The Brand Love Level on Social Media (based on positive & negative discussion on social media.
*The YMI Campaign Ranking is evaluated based on QU and CFQU metrics, which are derived from discussions among qualified users.

In April 2025, YouNet Media introduced two new metrics — Qualified Users (QU) and Content From Qualified Users (CFQU) — into the YMI Brand Ranking and Campaign Ranking. However, after a period of monitoring and evaluation, we have determined that conducting brand rankings and analysis on a monthly basis is not yet optimal.
With our continued commitment to enhancing analytical quality and delivering deeper insights, we have decided to further refine this methodology. A more optimized ranking format and frequency are currently being tested and will be launched in the near future.
Meanwhile, we are pleased to announce that the YMI Brand Ranking, based on the standard methodology, will officially return starting May 2025. During this time, the YMI Campaign Ranking will continue to apply the QU and CFQU metrics.
